Established in 2019, the Caution Tape Robotics has been inspiring students through robotic education and has experience in various robotics competitions including VEX IQ Challenge and VEX Robotics Competition.
Cadasio has proven itself as a valuable asset to help educate their cohort of more than 200 students. With its intuitive interface and close integration to popular CAD systems, the club has started to use Cadasio to teach students how to build their first robots. “It's like building Lego but with multiple views, so we as educators can teach students efficiently” says Malhar Soni, director of educational robotics “CAD has always been a 3D visual experience for engineers, while most manufacturing drawings are always 2D. Cadasio brings a fresh new perspective to student designs and allows for fast collaboration” continued Malhar.
Offering a range of learning packages in robotics, coding and making, Caution Tape Robotics Club courses are perfect for children to explore multiple fields of robotics study and see which suits them best. The club enters several competitions, and they find that they enhance children's education and development. One such contest, the VEX Robotics Competition, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, is the largest and fastest growing middle school and high school robotics program globally with more than 20,000 teams from 50 countries playing in over 1,700 competitions worldwide. Each year, an exciting engineering challenge is presented in the form of a game. Students, with guidance from their teachers and mentors, build innovative robots and compete year-round.
"Cadasio brings a fresh new perspective to student designs and allows for fast collaboration"
These competitions provide students with hands-on experience in designing, building, and programming robots, fostering a deep understanding of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) concepts. Beyond technical skills, participants develop critical life skills like teamwork, problem-solving, perseverance, communication, and project management.
Caution Tape Robotics encourages creativity and innovation as students tackle real-world engineering challenges. Moreover, it sparks an enduring interest in STEM fields, often motivating young minds to pursue STEM-related careers, thereby contributing to their personal growth and future success. Since being founded the club has enjoyed continued success in the competitions and have achieved the highest awards and currently hold the title of defending world champions in 2 of the 4 categories!
The assembly instructions created in Cadasio can be manipulated by the students, allowing them to zoom in and out, rotate and pan, as well as seeing engaging animations to show exactly how items are assembled. When asked about Cadasio Malhar stated that “from a business perspective, our educational program develops designs and curriculum that correlate with Cadasio instructions and provide us a scalable solution to grow our business”. Whilst the 3D presentations have proven extremely popular its worth noting that as a result of creating them, images, movies and PDFs can also be created at no extra effort. This means the students have multiple ways to digest the assembly instructions ensuring that however they like to learn, they have them covered.
As a cost effective, easy to use and flexible solution, Cadasio is proving popular in educational settings and we are proud to be involved with such a worthwhile club for young people and can’t wait to see what robots they invent and develop in the future.
